Wood + metal + castors is an automatic recipe for success, so when I saw this West Elm Market rolling cart I instantly fell in love. The high price tag is completely justifiable because it’s a market piece, meaning it is handcrafted. You can learn more about West-Elm’s commendable commitment to artisans here. I’m a firm believer in investing in good pieces but would only do so after thorough research. Since anything on wheels immediately becomes 10 times more versatile (in my books at least) this would be a good piece to invest in. I did some further sourcing and happened upon the Aiden 3-shelf Console from World Market. It’s a very similar piece with a much lower price tag. It doesn’t come with the same in-home delivery and assembly upon arrival as the West Elm unit, but at $350 you can afford to buy your handiest friend some beer and invite him/her over with their toolbox. The World Market piece is made in Indonesia. See how they stack up:
Would you save or splurge on a piece like this?
